Background


My career began as a Senior Business Analyst at Co-Op Financial Services in the United Kingdom. In this role, I was responsible for managing large project teams, ranging from 10 to 30 members. My focus was on ensuring seamless coordination through effective planning, execution, and change control, which enabled successful project delivery and fostered a collaborative team environment.


Transition to Law Enforcement


In 2005, I relocated with my family to Perth, Australia, fulfilling a longstanding ambition by joining the WA Police Force as an officer. I initially served in metropolitan areas as a uniformed officer before transitioning to regional duties. The majority of my policing career was spent as a Detective Investigator, where I leveraged my background in business analysis to devise innovative solutions for complex investigative challenges. My tenure at WA Police allowed me to build a strong reputation, develop extensive networks across several high-profile departments, and contribute to some of Western Australia’s most significant cases.


Leadership


After departing WA Police in 2020, I took on the role of Senior Investigator at WorkSafe, later advancing to Manager Investigations. In this capacity, I led inquiries into serious workplace injuries and fatalities across a range of industries. My responsibilities extended beyond investigations to include managing recruitment, budgeting, performance management, disciplinary matters, and staff wellbeing. I regularly engaged with stakeholders, spearheaded process improvements, and contributed to shaping the strategy and operations of the Investigations Directorate.


Professional Skills and Experience


My diverse professional journey has equipped me with a broad array of skills, enabling me to provide current and effective advice to individuals and agencies seeking robust recruitment standards. I possess deep knowledge of employment regulations and procedures, and have chaired numerous recruitment panels as well as served as an independent member on such panels. I also have substantial experience conducting complex and sensitive investigations across various domains, which has refined my investigative techniques and provided opportunities to mentor and train colleagues in these methods.

With nearly twenty years in public service and eight years in the private sector, I made the decision to establish Rayn Consultancy. Through this firm, I apply my expertise in leadership, management, recruitment, career coaching, and investigations to assist organisations and individuals.
